Paddy Twomey has made a bright start to the new campaign with a duo of new recruits and established stars leading the way. However, with plenty proven performers set to reappear in the coming weeks, there is much to look forward to for the Tipperary trainer.

Rosscarbery began life with Twomey as an 81 rated handicapper but progressed to win three times before landing the Group 3 Cork Oaks last time. Fellow newbie Earl Of Tyrone was unlucky on his stable debut but has since won twice and now has York as a target.

Earl Of Tyrone is guaranteed a place in the Ebor after winning at the Curragh (Sky Bet Race To The Ebor Handicap, a win and you’re in race for the Ebor) last time

“He’s is in good form and got a good hike in the weights. He’s rated 100 now; Twomey said.

“I’d imagine the Ebor would suit him well and whether he runs or not between now and then we’ll take it day by day and see what we think.”

The trainer also had news on Pearls Galore who has won both starts this season including the Group 2 Lanwades Stud Stakes at the Curragh last month;

“Pearls Galore will be entered in the Falmouth but I think we may run her in the Minstrel Stakes on Oaks weekend and I’d like to bring her to Deauville then for either the Maurice de Gheest or the Rothschild.

“Her owner Andreas Putsch lives in Deauville and his farm is in Deauville. I think she would like the French style of racing.”

Twomey also gave an update on two fillies that have yet to reappear this year. Limiti Di Greccio (2nd Irish Champions Weekend and won Listed Staffordstown Stud Stakes) and La Petite Coco (won 4 of 5 starts for the yard last year including Group 2 Blandford Stakes).

“La Petite Coco might run in the Pretty Polly on Derby weekend; he said.

“Limiti Di Greccio is in full work. I’d love to run her once before the Matron. I’d love to run her in the Matron and a run before that would be great.

“Marty Schwartz loves the Breeders Cup. The Fillies And Mares in Keeneland is 1900 metres so that would be within her compass and something to aim at.”
