Ken Condon enjoyed a one-two in the opening five-furlong race at Tipperary as Moss Tucker beat Quarantine Dreams
Moss Tucker was fifth in the Rockingham at the Curragh on Sunday and delivered his challenge here approaching the final quarter of a mile.
Joey Sheridan rode Quarantine Dreams (4/1) into contention and the pair served it up to the 11/10 favourite inside the final furlong.
Moss Tucker and Shane Foley (deputising for the suspended Billy Lee) did enough in the closing stages, though, to win by a cosy neck.
Condon said: "We've asked him to run two quick races before as he is a very relaxed horse and is very tough. He is very likeable, has got better with racing and has a good record at this track with three wins and a second from four starts. Shane (Foley) said he was always holding them and always comfortable.
"I thought Quarantine Dreams ran with good credit after Ascot, where he was drawn on the wrong side. It was different ground conditions and it is never ideal running two together but the race suited both horses and both connections were independently keen to run.
"Moss Tucker will have a break now for a little while Quarantine Dreams may run in the Phoenix Sprint and we'll campaign him in conditions' races, Listed and Group 3s and six furlongs would be even better for him."
He added: "It is great for Donal (Spring) and his wife Geraldine as he is a homebred and there are more from the family to come along. Moss Tucker is named after Moss Keane and Colm Tucker because Donal played on the 1978 Munster team that beat the All Blacks and they were his team-mates.
"There's great banter in the Whatsapp group and they were saying he'd have his Munster conditions today with the soft ground!"
Moss Tucker was well supported during the day from 2/1.
Three of his four victories have come in Tipperary with the other one at Fairyhouse.
