Morepowertoya was a poular local winner of the 'unplaced' four-year-old maiden under Darragh O'Keeffe.

The French bred, 20/1 early this morning and backed from 10s into 5/1 before the off, was held up in touch behind the leaders and was pushed along in fifth on the downhill run to the second-last. He moved into second before the last and got past Up And Out on the run-in to score by two lengths. All About Beth was a further two and a half lengths back in third.

Winning trainer Paul Power, based in nearby Butlerstown, said: "We were hopeful coming here. He was very scatty and green early on but he was starting to come forward a bit. You'd like to think off his mark that he would be competitive in a handicap but when this race for four-year-old's came up, how could you not go for it, especially when I'm only a few miles over the road.

"He got balloted out twice during the week and we actually wanted to go left-handed but hopefully the quirks are coming out of him now anyway.

"It's the first day he has finished off a race. Before when he'd come off it, he'd start jibbing around other horses. We will see what handicapper does now, maybe he'll go for a rated novice.

"The syndicate are from all over the place, from Australia to Kilmeaden, hence the name Going Global. My brother Conor is the head man in the syndicate."
