Moor makes impressive start Rock On The Moor quickened away smartly in the closing stages to make an impressive debut in the concluding bumper at Punchestown. The Jessica Harrington-trained mare pulled her way to the front after half a mile in the two-mile contest but despite running freely early on she had plenty left at the business end. The trainer's daughter Kate asked for an effort in the straight and the 7/1 shot galloped on strongly to post a comprehensive nine length success over Mister Myagi. Virtuoso Rouge, sent off the even-money favourite, found little turning for home after tracking the leaders and finished fourth. “She's a six-year-old and we've given her plenty of time. She's beautifully bred, I'll try and win a Listed mares bumper with her and she also jumps like a cat,” said Harrington. “I knew she could gallop away but I didn't think she could quicken like that. I'm thrilled with her. “It's great for Steve (Hemstock) who buys well-bred fillies to race and breed from. “There is the Listed bumper in Navan (November 23rd) and I saw this morning there is also one in Huntingdon at the beginning of December, which could suit Steve who is based in England.” (Additional reporting by Alan Magee)
