Monas Melody (10/1) showed plenty of improvement to strike in the fillies' bumper at Punchestown.
She was ridden by Derek O'Connor in seventh place approaching the home bend and made headway in the straight.
Her jockey switched her out and she swept through to lead at the furlong pole.
She kept up to her work to oblige by two and a quarter lengths. Mighty Meggsie 5/2 joint favourite, came in second with 50/1 shot Belles Benefit third.
Trainer Sam Curling said: “That's great, she had a grand run the first day. I'm delighted for Alfie (Sweetnam) who owns the third filly as well, she'll come on plenty for the run.
“The winner is a lovely filly, she has a great pedigree. I'm not sure what the plan is whether he wants to keep her or sell her.
“She'll be a lovely filly over two-and-a-half miles . She'd only ever be doing enough for you and I'd say she'll improve plenty again. If she stays she'll go for a winners' bumper.”
The Stewards interviewed Mr D. O'Connor, rider of Monas Melody, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. D. O'Connor was in breach of Regulation 10.3(h)(arm above shoulder height) and having considered his record, they suspended him for two race days.
Monas Melody had come home seventh on debut at Ballinrobe last month.
