Moll set for chasing campaign Tango Moll gained a deserved success over timber when running out a convincing winner of the two-and-a-half mile maiden hurdle at Gowran Park. Barry O'Neill's mount got a lovely split on the inner to take up the running after the fourth last but was tackled by 5/2 favourite In The Well at the next. That rival's jumping let him down at a crucial time and he soon came under pressure. 33/1 shot Maggie Sue soon challenged but cried enough after the second last and Tango Moll stayed on strongly in the closing stages. Karreull (33/1), who had been under pressure in fourth turning in, stayed on to chase home the winner but never looked like pegging her back and could only get within four lengths. The Colin Bowe-trained mare had disappointed on her last outing at Cork but had been a model of consistency previously, finishing in the first four on six runs over hurdles. The winner was sent off 11/4 second choice having attracted support from 7/2 on track. "The ground and the drop back to two-and-a-half probably helped her," said Bowe afterwards. "She's a big filly and will probably go straight chasing now." Owner Malachi McDaniel Stone has enjoyed good success with these colours in the past, most notably with Wishwillow Lord.
