Miss Tapley completes quick double for Joseph O'Brien After the success of Baltray Lady in the opener, Joseph O'Brien quickly doubled-up with Miss Tapley in the KC Shipping Fillies Maiden. With some placed form to her name, the 78-rated grey was expected to make the breakthrough this afternoon, going off favourite at 11/10 (6/4 early). Pushed along from the stalls and soon settled in second by Wayne Hassett, the Edelle Logan-owned victor travelled best with over two furlongs to go. Soon improving into a share of the lead, she was pushed to the front inside the final furlong and drew clear when ridden close home. The front running Storm Averted (3/1) was a length and three quarters back in second, while Ina Mina (15/8) was another three quarters of a length away in third. "It will (battle will stand to her) - she was dropped back in trip there today and it suited her lovely. She travels very well," Hassett commented. "I tried to keep her on the bridle for as long as I could, but she did it well. When I asked her then just before the road, she picked up well and did it nicely. "She could easily step up to another mile and a quarter there in the future. "I'm happy with her today." STEWARDS REPORT * M.W Hassett, rider of Miss Tapley, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout. Additional reporting by Michael Graham
