Milwaukee showed plenty of heart and bravery under a strong drive from Ryan Moore to run out a gutsy winner of the Friarstown Stud Maiden at the Curragh.
The Aidan O'Brien trained colt, who was making his fifth start, was soon at the head of affairs leading the field. At the two furlong marker he looked as though he would be swallowed up as a host of challenges emerged either side.
However, the son of Justify found plenty for pressure, digging deep and responding to his rider's urgings to kick into overdrive and power a couple of lengths clear of his rivals. Time To Tell emerged from the chasing pack to throw down the final challenge but the O'Brien-trained winner wasn't for passing and scored by a length and a quarter at odds of 10/3.
"He stays very well. He is very genuine, a typical Justify," Aidan O'Brien said.
"He wasn't stopping. He found plenty for pressure. Ryan said like a mile and a half, no problem. He will go all the way up to two miles that fella. He will handle better ground but he just stays very well.
"He only wears the blinkers because he is lazy and we were running him too short."
