Review WEXFORD 13TH JUN

The Michael Halford-trained Felix The Great dominated proceedings at Wexford last night as he annihilated the opposition en route to beating What If by a smooth nine lengths in the Datapac Novice Hurdle with Adrian Lane.

In all probability, Felix The Great, which is owned by Bernard Healy from Dalkey, will be participating in novice hurdle companyt for the summer months.

The Tony Mullins-trained Bringontheclowns dispensed with his maiden tag over flights by landing the Coolcotts Maiden Hurdle with Barry Geraghty. Formerly trained by Aidan O'Brien, Bringontheclowns beat Golden Glow by a head.

There was controversy in the opening New Ross Maiden Hurdle as the winner Dolphins Peak was disqualified for causing interference before the final flight and the race was awarded to the Pat Martin-trained Buddy Man.

Dolphins Peak's jockey Ruby Walsh later gained a degree of consolation by steering Coolgarrow to victory for local Screen trainer Richard Rath in the first division of the Hilary Murphy Travel Mares Beginners Chase.

Kieran Kelly partnered his initial winner for north Co Cork trainer Eugene O'Sullivan by making virtually all the running on former winning point-to-pointer Tuba in the Riverside Park Hotel Handicap Chase.

Sean McDermott is excellent value for his five lb claim and the Co Kerry-born jockey combined with John Foley to collect the J. J. Byrne Citroen Handicap Hurdle with the lightly-weighted Rathnageera Star whilst there was an all-family success in the second section of the Hilary Murphy Travel Mares Beginners Chase as Martin Mooney guided Altregan Lady to victory for his father Paddy.
