Championship leader Mick Kinane brought his tally for the season to 31 when partnering a double aboard Yesterday and Handsome Bop.
Yesterday showed the benefit of her previous outing in a Listed event at Naas when readily justifying strong support in the juvenile fillies maiden. The full-sister to Moyglare Stud Stakes winner Quarter Moon was just pushed out with hands and heels in the straight for a convincing two lengths victory over Encircle.
Handsome Bop also scored with ease in the mile and three quarters handicap, where Kinane oozed confidence before pushing the button in the final furlong to beat Seifi by four lengths. 'Winning over hurdles gave her confidence, and she will continue to mix it between the Flat and hurdles,' said trainer Michael Halford.
Bubble N Squeak, 11lb 'well in' compared with future handicaps following a runaway success at Down Royal last Saturday, duly landed the odds in the nine furlong handicap. Michael Hussey produced the filly with a smooth challenge between horses early in the straight, and pushed her out to beat Ahshado by a length with the pair pulling nine lengths clear of the remainder.
Charlie Swan partnered his first winner of the new National Hunt season when riding a waiting race on Jack Owen Jack in the novice hurdle. Christy Roche's charge landed in front after the last to beat Kilcrea Shyan by a length and a half.
