James Burns immediately nominated the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes as the target for Serene Princess after the American-bred filly made a successful debut in the Four Mile House EBF Fillies Maiden.
The daughter of Louis Quatorze led just inside the two furlongs pole for Declan McDonogh, and quickened up nicely to beat the heavily-backed favourite High Maintenance.
'She has always pleased me at home, and has plenty of quality', said a delighted Burns before adding: 'She will now go straight for the Moyglare'. Incidentally, Preseli took this maiden two years ago before going on to land the 'Moyglare'.
Lindissima justified good support in the Lenabane Maiden, leading well over a furlong out under Kevin Manning to beat Grassland Star by two and a half lengths.
Favourite backers also collected in the Sherry Fitzgerald P. Burke & Associates Auctioneers Handicap where Veronica Cooper scored with some style. Michael Kinane could afford to ease the four-year-old down in the closing stages to beat Carrigavantry by two lengths. 'She has had problems both coming into and staying in season, but has really come to herself recently. A handicap at Galway is now the main aim', said trainer David Hanley.
Wensum Dancer, first reserve when successful in a maiden hurdle at Sligo last Monday, repeated the feat in the Elan Handicap Hurdle. Kieran Gaule's mount struck the front between the final two flights to beat Gamekeeper by three lengths, and trainer Tom Hogan is planning to switch her to the Flat for a handicap later this week.
Sabbatical jumped past favourite Danaeve at the last in the Gortna Mona Maiden Hurdle, and kept on well for Paul Carberry to score by three quarters of a length. 'All the Jurado's seem to need top of the ground, and Paul gave her a super ride', said successful trainer Al O'Connell.
