< Larry Luso came out a narrow 16-1 victor in the Conyngham Cup at Punchestown - but that was only half the story in a dramatic renewal.< Kaitlin's Fancy unseated her rider after the first fence and got loose, with the blinkered mare running through the enclosures and eventually colliding with a man in the betting ring, who was later taken by ambulance to hospital in Naas.
The man was reportedly conscious when leaving the track and set to stay in hospital overnight for observation.
There were a number of other fallers in the race for qualifying riders, but at the business end Mark O'Hare shone on the winner as the partnership kept on well on the run-in to hold off the fast-finishing Classic Frontier by a head.
Delighted trainer Daniel O'Sullivan said: "He ran well here the last day and going on that run we gave him a chance. He appreciates that quick ground, even though he is a big horse.
"If he goes up enough we will aim him for the Summer National at Uttoxeter, he needs a big galloping track.
"Mark gave him a good ride, he rides well."< Coscorrig (5-1) made it two wins on the bounce with victory in the three-runner Go Racing In Kildare Chase.
However, the result could have been much different had even-money favourite Archie Boy not crashed out at the second-last when holding a clear advantage.
Winning trainer Andrew Lynch said: "We had a bit of luck today. She's not too bad and she's had some very good runs in good races.
"She has given us plenty of enjoyment."
Cathy O'Leary saddled 8-1 shot Otterstown Lady to land the Dobbins Panoramic Restaurant Maiden Hurdle, and said afterwards: "She never got her ground last summer, she will stay over hurdles for the time being."
