Review LISTOWEL 19TH SEP

Jockey Barry Geraghty recorded a double at Listowel yesterday, landing the feature even in the process. However the day's racing was marred by the death of three horses, including one of the day's winners.

Geraghty's double was completed when partnering Windsor Boy in the E40,000 Dawn Milk Handicap Chase, the son of Mtoto eventiually saw off the persistent challenge of Dangerousdanamgru to win by a length. Afterwards, winning trainer Edward O'Grady reported 'maybe a few of the other runners did not handle the soft ground but my horse has progressed nicely over fences.' The race was marred by the death of useful chaser Ross Moff who broke a hind leg after galloping loose, following a fall at the sixth last fence.

Geraghty earlier rode ill fated Arachine to win the two mile handicap hurdle. The gelding noticeably tied up in the closing stages and like Ross Moff, was put down, having broken down badly.

Elsewhere, Tuppenny Cody ran out an easy winner of the Kerry Spring Water Hurdle while Tom Ryan was seen to good effect when winning on Tony Seymour's Threequarter Moon in the 2m4f handicap hurdle.
