Cuan Na Grai could be set for a tilt at the Galway Hurdle following a stylish victory at Limerick on Sunday.
Paul Nolan's charge notched a hat-trick over timber when making all for an impressive nine length win in the www.limerickraces.ie Novice Hurdle.
Barry Geraghty asked his mount to quicken entering the straight and he soon had his rivals in trouble, streaking clear between the last two flights to win easily.
'Hopefully that win today will put him nicely into the weights for the Galway Hurdle,' said Nolan. 'The ground was firm today and hopefully he'll be sound after that.'
Nolan and Geraghty had also teamed up successfully in the opener when Trefflich comfortably landed the Perks Funfair at Limerick Races Maiden Hurdle.
The gelding had cruised into contention three out and led at the next. He went clear before the last for a cosy four-length victory over Gilo.
Michael Hourigan will enter Larry Boy for the Galway Plate following his wide margin success in the Dolans Warehouse Handicap Chase.
After the gelding had cruised to a 14-length success Hourigan said: 'He's always a horse we've thought a bit of. The way the Plate is run should suit him. If he doesn't get into that he'll run in something else at Galway.'
The feature event of the day produced a terrific finish with Young Elodie getting home by half-a-length from Emotional Article in a driving finish to the Supermacs Summer Handicap Hurdle.
The Michael O'Brien-trained mare led before two out but she was quickly challenged by Emotional Article and had to pull out all the stops. Coast To Coast stayed on strongly to finish a head back in third.
'We stepped her up to 2m4f today and it worked well,' said assistant trainer Denis Cullen. 'She'll go to Galway and has a number of options there.'
Room To Room Gold was perhaps a fortunate winner of the Family Raceday Novice Chase as he was gifted the lead at the last fence.
Young Patriarch looked to be holding his rival at bay but crashed out, leaving Room To Room Gold to come home five lengths in front of Minotaur.
Trainer Sean Treacy thought his charge may have won anyway and revealed that a trip to Ballybrit is also on the cards for the gelding.
Like A Dream came with a strong run to lead at the last in the Limerick Leader Maiden Hurdle and score by two lengths from Monty Mint.
