Review LIMERICK 13TH NOV Nina Carberry was the star of the show at Limerick on a day that amateur riders were in the spotlight.Carberry registered a double courtesy of Fivestar Alstars and A New Story while Kevin Power also landed a brace aboard Nora's Island and That's An Idea.Fivestar Alstars gave trainer Philip Goulding his first winner 'under rules' when keeping on gamely to land the Ladbrokes.ie (QR) Maiden Hurdle by four-and-a-half lengths from Contact Dancer.Carberry partnered the second of her two when giving A New Story a polished ride over the larger obstacles in the CCS/OBI Garryowen Plate Handicap Chase.The Michael Hourigan-trained gelding led at the second last and survived a slight mistake at the final fence to comfortably account for Mamouna Gale by seven lengths.Hourigan was full of praise for the winning rider afterwards: 'She's a very good rider and the best compliment I can pay her is to say that she rides like a man.'Punters were celebrating after Kevin Power produced the well-supported Nora's Island to lead at the last and land the Keanes Jewellers (QR) Handicap Hurdle.Winning trainer Dusty Sheehy said afterwards that he was looking forward to the return of Rathgar Beau at Clonmel on Thursday and to Justified making his second start over fences at Punchestown on Sunday.That's An Idea was a short price to give Power a double in the Glenview Stud (QR) Beginners Chase and had few problems, coming home an easy 13-length winner.The opening Martinstown Opportunity Maiden Hurdle saw an impressive hurdling debut from Beautiful Vision, who quickened nicely in the straight to beat Victor Victorious by eight lengths.Trainer Tom Taaffe reported that the winner had boiled over when finishing down the field in the Cheltenham bumper when last seen.'You would have to be delighted with the way he jumped and we'll try and find a winners of one for him now.'The Barringtons Hospital Doctors & Nurses Handicap Hurdle turned into a test of stamina and Alickadoo stayed on best to claim the spoils.Nina Carberry was denied a treble in the concluding Power Oil Mares (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race when her mount Haydens First found Leamybe too strong in the closing stages.
