Ruby Walsh notched his first winner since returning from a lengthy spell on the sidelines as Glantara triumphed in the Jameson Novice Chase at Killarney.
Walsh was ruled out for over four months after breaking his arm back in April and after finishing third on his first ride back on Monday, he went a couple of places better here.
Sent off a 5-1 chance, Glantara made every yard of the running for Walsh before comfortably repelling the challenge of Armaramak by five and a half lengths.
Walsh said: "It's great to be back and the arm feels good."
"The horse jumped like a buck throughout."
Winning trainer John Kiely added: "A confident ride is just what he needed.
"I was told coming here that my horse had no chance. The ground was all wrong in his hurdle race at Cork (last time) and he pinged his fences here today."< Top Spin registered a 25-1 success in the www.thetote.com Kingdom Gold Cup Handicap to cap a memorable evening for trainer John Murphy.
On the mark with Praise Be (12-1) in the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden, Murphy teamed up with 7lb-claimer Sam James in the feature event.
Content to track the early pace, Top Spin unleashed his challenge two furlongs out and after taking it up inside the distance, he dug deep to repel Alpine Eagle by half a length.
"He's tough and improving every month, he has a beautiful attitude and travels well and quickens well off the pace," said Murphy.
"He got a good ride tonight and we've no plans for him."
Pat Flynn and Danny Grant combined to good effect with 11-1 shot Waydownsouth in the Cork Bar & Catering Handicap.
"We were hoping he'd run well but we didn't think he'd win. I hope he runs just as well next time out," said Flynn.
"I used to train his mother and she was from an ordinary enough family but he seems to have a bit more talent."
