Barry Geraghty completed a 116/1 double at Kilbeggan yesterday evening but only after Jumbo Beauty was disqualified for weighing in light in the Tullamore Mares Maiden Hurdle.
Jumbo Beauty, ridden by Willie Slattery for his brother Andy, drew clear in the straight for a four length `winning` margin over Treasure Cove. However, the saddle cloth came off the five-year-old after the third last flight resulting in Slattery weighing in over a pound light.
The amended result provided former champion jump jockey Joe Byrne with a first winner since renewing his training licence this year. 'It`s not the way I wanted to win but that`s racing,' said Byrne, who will revert his charge to the Flat for a nine furlong handicap at Tramore on Monday.
