McNally on the mark with See Double You See Double You proved his two recent point to point successes were no fluke with a facile win in the Tramore Racecourse Members Club Handicap Hurdle at Tramore today, scoring racecourse debut wins for trainer John Woods and jockey Ronan McNally. Punters who backed the gelding at fancy prices in the morning, on his scheduled racecourse reappearance at Thurles recently can now count themselves unlucky when the gelding was withdrawn due to the drying ground. However the gelding made no mistake today, scoring effortlessly under Ronan McNally, who reduced his celebrations to a mere punch of the air passing the line, considerably less than his wild celebrations at Farmaclaffley when the pair were last in action! Afterwards Sean Gordon, from the winning Red Ned's Racing Club, said “there are six members in the syndicate and it is named after our local pub in Armagh! “That is Ronan's first track winner and he also trained See Double You when he won his point to points but we decided to send him to John Woods, who also trains in Armagh, for his racecourse runs.” McNally later explained: "I have a degree in Geography but I'm now involved in the kitchen and stairs company that we have. "I bought this horse off Liam Fennessy in Cork and he is very hard to train. It was too firm for him when we took him out in Thurles last time and he's now won 3 out of 4 for us. "He'll go chasing next year."
