Oliver McKiernan and Shane Crimin (cautioned for his use of the stick) combined for good wins earlier in the year with Changing Times before that fellow under-performed at Cheltenham yesterday on his debut for Nigel Twiston-Davies. McKiernan has his own horses in right good order though and Crimin gave his Whodoyouthink an enterprising ride to land the Richard Browne & Sons Ltd. Hurdle at Wexford.
He's from the family of Whatuthink and Glens Music and Whodoyouthink is a talented sort in his own right, gaining the fourth success of his lifetime here. Backed from 10s this morning into 11/2, the victorious Court Cave gelding made most, he was clear from three out and kept on well in the final furlong to hold Wilde Wit Pleasure (his rider Shay Barry got banned for a day for excessive use of his whip) by three parts of a length.
Young Crimin is obviously keen on Wexford as he said: "That's my fourth winner and my first one came here back in July on Aon Sceal."
McKiernan isn't immune to the charms of the South Eastern venue either, commenting: "We've had plenty of luck between here and Thurles.
"I thought the ground mightn't have suited this fellow but he galloped through it well. He'll be jumping fences soon and he might go to Gowran Park next weekend.
"He'll get an entry in the Irish National. He's been a bit frustrating and I thought he'd have won more at this stage.
"He was out on his own today and kept galloping. The cheek-pieces are doing him no harm – they've sharpened him up." (DM & EM)
