McDonogh boots home treble on Busselton Declan McDonogh completed his treble on Busselton (9/4) in the concluding 1m4f maiden at Roscommon. This was a second winner on the card for Joseph O'Brien who was also responsible for Herring Island (12/1), ridden by McDonogh. The jockey also booted home Beamish (10/3) in the featured Lenebane Stakes (Listed) for Paddy Twomey. The treble paid just over 182/1. Busselton swept past a hard at work 5/4 favourite in the final furlong and a half and soon set sail for home. He was kept more than honest by 50/1 shot Thousand Tears in the final furlong but Beusselton hit the line first by half a length from the plucky runner-up. Plains Indian was four and a quarter length adrift in third at 8/1. The Gossiper weakened right out of contention to come home seventh. Assistant trainer Brendan Powell said: "He been consistent over jumps and now on the Flat. “The ground was probably a bit quick for him in Down Royal last time. He's won that today, how good a race it was you don't know but he's won. “He'll probably get a mark now and I'd say there will be loads of options for him, both on the Flat and jumping, at Galway. “It's been a great night for Declan and he gave them lovely rides as well.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
