Willie McCreery is hoping Killarney sees some rain before allowing Devonshire to run in the Listed Vincent O'Brien Ruby Stakes on Wednesday evening.
The Godolphin-owned filly showed some decent form earlier in the season when only beaten two lengths into third by Jim Bolger's Pleascach in the Irish 1,000 Guineas.
She has only run once since then, when down the field against the colts in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot, but McCreery feels she had a genuine excuse that day.
"The ground was probably a bit quick for her over there," he said.
"I'm hoping it rains at Killarney as I wouldn't want to run her on fast ground again.
"If they do get the rain and we get to run her, then she should run a big race.
"When you see what the fillies who finished around her that day (in the Guineas) have done, like Found and Jack Naylor, then you'd think she'd be up to winning a race like this, so I hope we can run her.
"I'd always planned on giving her a mid-summer break as she had three hard races before Ascot and because she likes a bit of give, I thought that would be the best time.
"There are plenty of options for her if she doesn't run, so we'll just have to see what happens with the weather."
Other three-year-olds among the 11 declared include Aidan O'Brien's Battle Of Marathon who finished a tailed-off last of six on his only outing this season having shown decent form last summer.
The Ger Lyons-trained Sacrifical followed up his third in the Britannia at Ascot with a win at Galway and is progressing while four-year-old stablemate Lat Hawil, who also runs in the Qatar Racing silks, will be looking to bounce back from a below-par run in the Topaz Mile.
Jim Bolger is double-handed with Algonquin and Knacknagree, with Mick Halford's Wychwood Warrior also holding claims on his second in the Platinum Stakes.
