McCoy rides winner on memorable Irish visit Dublin was fortunate to host Tony McCoy today and the soon to retire racing legend partnered a winner at Leopardstown, winning the Paddy Power 'Number 1 For Live Streaming' Handicap Hurdle on Sort It Out, for his employer J.P. McManus and trainer Eddie Harty. Tributes to McCoy have been flooding in since the rider announced his end-of-season retirement at Newbury yesterday and following Sort It Out's win today, Harty revealed "it's amazing the ways things work out as my father got him the job with Toby Balding and I gave him his first winner after the 4,000 and that winner now." Regarding Sort It Out, the Cheltenham winning trainer added "he was good in Punchestown the last day. I have to give a bit of the credit to Frank Berry (McManus' racing manager) as he suggested going for the two-mile. I was a bit worried it might be on the sharp side." McCoy later completed a memorable double on Carlingford Lough in the Hennessy Gold Cup (see later story). By Tom Weekes, quotes from Gary Carson
