Tony Martin became the third trainer of the night at Dundalk to saddle a one-two when Avanti Albert held off Pires in the mile-and-a-half handicap.
It was a double for Kevin Manning, who sent his mount to the front well inside the final furlong for a neck victory over his stable-mate.
"I'm delighted for John Breslin but they are two great owners and a dead-heat would have suited better!" said Martin.
"He was unlucky last Wednesday night and because it was the last night we had no choice but to run them all. There is no racing here till February which is a pity."
Martin also saddled Charminamix to finish seventh in the contest.
