Man O Work, runner-up last year in the Liam Healy Memorial Lartigue Hurdle, is being aimed at a return to the Listowel Festival next month following a promising effort on the Flat at Tramore.

The Paul Fahey-trained gelding won twice in juvenile hurdles early last year and beat all bar Prairie Dancer in the ‘Lartigue’ last September.

However, he lost his way a bit this spring before switching to the Flat on his reappearance at Tramore when a creditable second to the odds-on Filey Bay.

“He was second in the Lartigue Hurdle at Listowel last year and will go back there now for one of the good handicaps,” said Fahey.

“Nothing happened for him earlier this year, he had a fall at Leopardstown and he pulled up on atrocious ground at Sandown. He seemed to come back to good form on Thursday night.

"I think he will land a good handicap. He was three lengths behind Emmet's horse (Filey Bay), who was only beaten a few lengths in the Galway Hurdle. We'd be getting nearly a stone and a half off of him in a handicap hurdle.

"There is no point in us going out with a horse like him and winning a low grade handicap, with the handicapper then giving us 10lb. We will keep him in decent handicaps and if we land one, we land one."
