Make A Promise showed plenty of dash to take the five furlong Ballykisteen Maiden in Tipperary.

The 7/2 chance rewarded trainer Andy Oliver’s trip down from Co Tyrone in the north.

The field raced right across the track in this sprint but Make A Promise held a definite lead in the final quarter of a mile.

He was ridden to go and shed his maiden tag racing into the final furlong and stuck to his guns in beating Blue Umbrella (20/1) by a length and a half. Realtin Fantasy was a neck off the runner-up in third at 80/1.

Jockey Billy Lee said: “Her first run was very good but then she lost her way due to a few little things.

"I rode her the last day with blinkers on her over seven (furlongs) and I felt she didn't stay and told Andy to bring her back to the minimum distance.

"She jumped a bit slow today but she got up and travelled away well. I was able to get on to the ambulance track, as we call it, and it made a difference. It's great to get a winning bracket with her."
