Ruby Walsh kept up his marvellous rate of success when notching up a tenth winner since his Cheltenham heroics, giving Majestic Oak a 'peach' of a front-running ride in the Powerstown Maiden Hurdle.
The son of Bering clearly enjoyed himself at the head of affairs and his jumping was particularly good. He beat off the challenge of the favourite, Rick by two and a half lengths.
Trainer by former jockey, Liam Cusack, the 11/4 winner is owned by the Kaiser Sosa Syndicate. Cusack said: "He is a chaser but it is nice to win a hurdle before we let him off. I thought around a track like this he'd be better in front, like he did when he was third on his only run in a point-to-point."
The Kaiser Sosa Syndicate also owned Cusack's previous winner, Sense Of Awareness at Tramore last May. (EM)
