Paene Magnus (7/2 in the morning into 7/4f) was 'the one for money' in the featured Listed Carlingford Stakes at Dundalk this evening and the Jim Bolger trained colt showed the necessary improvement to complete his hat-trick at the venue, under Kevin Manning.
Successful here a fortnight ago in a handicap rated just 79, the son of Teofilo raced in second position today before improving to lead two furlongs out, eventually staying on well to defeat Muck 'N' Brass. Easy to back Banna Boirche (6/4 – 9/4) was unable to quicken in the closing stages and finished a well held third.
Bolger was represented by Ger Flynn who stated “he is a horse on the up. He's entered in the Dubai Carnivl and hopefully that will put him on the bracket he needs to be.
“He's a tough, genuine, galloping horse and is improving all the time.”
