Macgiloney outstays rivals for Hogan and Cawley Macgiloney (7/2) gained his third win of the season over hurdles as he landed the featured Linden Foods Hurdle under 7lb claimer Paul Cawley. Denis Hogan’s six-year-old Milan gelding collared the strong-travelling Everybreathyoutake (3/1) after the last and, as that one faded to third, held the late challenge of the veteran Sang Tiger (50/1) as that one came through to grab second spot. A length and a quarter and three quarters of a length were the winning distances. Favourite backers were out of luck as Doctor Duffy, the 11/8 market leader, departed early with jockey Darragh O’Keeffe reporting that the horse cocked his jaw and went to run out at the second hurdle, causing him to be unseated. “He's a grand old horse, said the winning rider Paul Cawley. I was speaking to Denis (Hogan) beforehand and he told me to ride him like he rode him in Bellewstown. "He jumped for fun and didn't stop, he's all heart. He's improving the whole time and he gives you his all. "Yeah brilliant (to get the ride). Denis is suspended - unfortunate for him but fortunate for me. "He's been super to me since I turned (conditional) and even for the two boys to let me ride him, I'm just grateful. "Hopefully we can stay going. "I'd be in Denis' a few days a week and after that I go wherever I have to go. "The two men that own him are absolute gents, I'm delighted for them. You couldn't meet nicer than them."
