Lyons takes opener at Curragh The opening race at the Curragh the Aussie Rules EBF Maiden saw 4/1 joint favourites Clondinnery and Radharcnafarraige battle it all the way to the line with Keagan Latham aboard Clondinnery just clinching victory on the line. Latham who was in front from over one furlong out was headed just inside the final furlong but kept on well under a strong drive by Latham to lead on line and deny Radharcnafarraige by a short head. Shane Lyons brother of winning trainer Ger Lyons said afterwards: "Ger has always thought a lot of this horse." "He ran well first time out here but then things didn't go right for him at Dundalk." "He was very professional there and the front two pulled away from the rest, in time he could be a Royal Ascot horse."
