Lyons reaching new Heights with newcomers Trainer Ger Lyons introduced his second winning newcomer of the day, and third in two days, when his Elusive Heights showed a willing attitude to win the concluding Join Tote Rewards Median Auction Maiden at Naas today. Lyons' stable jockey Colin Keane was on board yesterday's winning debutante Tony The Gent, earlier debutante winner Psychedelic Funk and Elusive Heights and again produced the finale winner with perfect timing, to edge past Freeman close home. The winner's pedigree is somewhat unorthodox, being out of Group 2 winning mare Berg Bahn who was sent to her owner's (Mrs Patino's Anamoine Stud) Elusive Pimpernel, whose stud fee is a paltry E1,000. Following the win, Lyons stated “he did it the way we thought he would. The mare was very good and he has more about him and has a lot more scope than the dam. “Like the horse yesterday (Tony The Gent) he was doing the job right at home and I think they are two nice three-year-olds. This lad is probably a bit sharper and the other lad will stay further. It's nice when they do on the track what we see at home and I suppose that's done to the (good) ground a bit also.” By Tom Weekes, quotes from Gary Carson
