Lynch & O'Grady take the feature with Mabel Time For Mabel came out on top in the feature at Killarney, the Killarney Grand Live Music Venue Handicap Hurdle, scoring under Andrew Lynch for Edward O'Grady and the Mullacrock Partnership. The subject of a gamble when second here over the course and distance in May, the son Soldier Of Fortune since finished fourth at Punchestown and on the level in the Cork Derby. He recorded his second win over hurdles at Limerick on his most recent start, and he was sent off a 6/1 chance this afternoon. Settled behind the leaders, he was fourth with a circuit to race. He was pushed along and gained a narrow lead before the last, keeping on well under pressure on the run-in, going on to score by a length and a quarter. Top-weight Cliff House (7's to 5's) ran a fine race to finish second under Adrian Heskin for John Joe Walsh, while Ancient Sands (9/2), who beat the winner here in May, kept on well to take third, a head back under Brian Hayes for John Kiely. Andrew Lynch said afterwards: "I thought they would have gone quicker and while he was always doing too much he quickened up well. "I thought it was harsh that he received seven pounds for winning the last day but it obviously wasn't and Edward's horses seem to be in good order." Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes
