Look Closer enjoyed a facile victory in the opening two mile maiden hurdle at Cork.

Rachael Blackmore 's mount raced in fifth behind the leader Reddot Dancer

He made significant progress to take over jumping the third last. From there, the race was quickly put to bed as he drew clear two out.

The well backed 7/4 favourite (from an opening show of 5/2) put seven and a half lengths on second-placed Vanishing Point (12/1).

There was a further five length gap back to 16/1 chance Killasser Boy in third.

Handler Ellmarie Holden said: "That was very impressive and Rachael gave him a super ride. Going on his last run, he wouldn’t have been too far (away) today and everything is flying at the moment. We’ll keep going for the summer but have nothing lined up next.”

Look Closer was headed in the last strides to lose out at Fairyhouse a fortnight ago.

He had been suspended from racing for 42 days in relation to Rule 212 when 10th at Fairyhouse in early February.
