Denis Linehan came down the outer on his own in the straight and it worked a treat as his mount Caridadi landed the spoils for owner/trainer John Morrison in the Follow Limerick Racecourse On Facebook Apprentice Handicap.
Caridadi halved in price on the shows, from 16/1 into 8/1, and the five-year-old Invincible Spirit gelding justified the confidence by a length, and a length and three parts, from Along The Shore and Elm Grove
The latter had led and attempted to assert approaching the straight, but he couldn't see it out in the mile three contest, whilst Along The Shore got on terms inside the last. However there was no living with the patiently ridden Caridadi's finishing burst, in the final fifty yards.
"The bit of fresh ground on the outside helped him and I think there could be a few more races in him. He was running off a competitive mark today," reported Linehan.
