A very good evening for locally-trained horses at Tramore was rounded off by the victory of Line Out (6/1) in the FormaHoof (Ladies) Maiden.

The Shantou gelding, fourth over hurdles at Galway on his previous start, got a good run through on the inner for Maxine O'Sullivan to lead over two furlongs out, and stayed on well from that point to beat Molly Wedger (4/1) by a length and a quarter.

This was a sixth career victory for the Lillingston family’s good servant, after three wins over hurdles and two over fences.

Winning trainer John Kiely said: "I'm delighted, although I beat a neighbour. Dermot (O'Brien) used to work for me and his mare (Molly Wedger) was second.

"He might go for a hurdle now at Killarney.

“It's great to have a race for the lady riders and it's great to have a winner in Tramore, I'm coming here a long time. I think it was in 1953 that we won the first race and the last race of the Festival with the same horse."
