Lennon gets a 2nd win from Haqeeba Predominantly a jumps man he may be, but Liam Lennon secured a second win out of ex-Dermot Weld inmate Haqeeba, when she triumphed in the Holcroft Peugeot Drogheda 40th Anniversary Handicap at Bellewstown. In this five furlong event Declan McDonogh soon had 10/1 chance (from 14s) Haqeeba to the fore down the centre of the track. Ridden over a furlong out the Maurice McCavitt-owned owned four-year-old kept on well to account for Olaudah by two and a half lengths. McDonogh commented: "Liam (Lennon) was hopeful and said to ride her as I find her. She enjoys being handy. I went straight from my draw and she liked being on her own. She kept at it well." R.P. Whelan, rider of My Good Brother trained by T.G.McCourt, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away and got no run. (AM & EM)
