Harry Rogers saddled 7/2 favourite Polly Ella to take division two of the www.citynorthhotel.com Handicap under an inspired ride by Keagan Latham.
The Night Shift filly who was very slowly away lost about ten lengths at the start.
Latham soon made up the ground and came with a run on the outer to join the leaders entering the straight.
The pair took up the lead over a furlong out and stayed on well to record a three and a half length win.
A delighted Rogers said afterwards: “She got a fantastic ride from Keagan [Latham].
"They got left and he sat and used his head as they went very fast early on. He’s a very good pilot.”
“She’s very hard to win with so hopefully the handicapper won’t be too hard.”
