The Thomastown Handicap was won by Lesley Youngs Damasque ridden by Martin Lane for the Bawnville Syndicate.
Damasque led approaching straight and under a strong ride by Lane managed to hold off the late effort of David Christie's Fast Lightening to win by a head. Martin Lane who claims the seven pounds is apprenticed to Frances Crowley.
