Lady Springbank dominated the Group 3 Leopardstown 1,000 Guineas Trial Stakes, taking over a furlong and a half out under Jim Crowley before going on to beat the staying-on Duchess Of Foxland by a length and a half.
The three for money here were Famous (11/4 into 2/1 fav, beat only one home), her Ballydoyle stable companion Ice Empress (25s into 10s, finished 8th) and Crystal Gal (14s into 10s) who finished third.
Born in England, Crowley's father is a Dublin-native and the former jump jockey said: "That was brilliant and I was very impressed with her. It was a good performance and she loves that ground. We went a nice even gallop and another furlong wouldn't do her any harm."
Meanwhile Paul Deegan, commented of the Mark Gittins-owned 8/1 scorer: "That was a good performance and she did it well. This was the plan if she was ready and I think she'll improve for today. She is a high class filly.
"She'll go straight for the Irish Guineas now." William Hill gave the grey a quote of 12/1 for that event whilst Boylesports go 14/1.
