Lady Wannabe dropped down from Group One company to take the Listed Edmund & Josie Whelan Memorial Listowel Stakes in good style.

The Camelot filly was sighted in mid-division at the halfway stage before taking closer order a quarter of a mile from home.

She moved into contention approaching the final furlong and soon picked up to assume the lead from Flaming Moon at the furlong pole.

The 14/1 shot ran on strongly to take the feature by a length and three quarters for trainer Fozzy Stack. Keats (13/2) kept on for second without threatening the winner. He was three parts of a length ahead of Flaming Moon (6/1 from as big as 25/1 in the morning).

Chris Hayes said: "She had a good run the last day in superior company.

"We followed them around, they went good and hard and that was as quick as she wanted but the drop back in trip suited and the rain came, which worked out a treat.

"That is probably her ideal trip, 1m1f, she probably didn't get home over 1m2f and they were going a gear too quick for her over a mile.

"She was able to get into a rhythm today and hopefully she can do something again later on."

Lady Wannabe was last seen finishing eighth in the Group One Matron Stakes at Leopardstown.
