Connor King continued in flying form as he partnered Carenza to land the Morocco Sorec Handicap at Leopardstown, riding his 20th winner in the process.

Our Manekineko made a bold bid from the front in the mile contest but the field pressed him hard inside the final furlong.

The David Marnane-trained Carenza finished best of all to get up in the closing stages for a three-parts-of-a-length victory.

The front-runner just held second spot from Nuestra Alegria while 3/1 favourite Zelie Martin was fourth.

The winner had attracted support at 10/1 before racing and was returned a 6/1 shot.

She had shown some promise when mid-division on her handicap debut at Fairyhouse last month before finishing well-beaten at Bellewstown.

“She ran really well first time but on her second run bombed out and I don't know why. Hopefully she progresses another bit," said Marnane afterwards.

King will be able to claim 7lb for the next two days but will be down to 5lb from Monday at Galway.

There was a sting in the tail for the jockey as he received a one-day ban for careless riding.

The stewards found that he had caused interference to both Glen Ginnie and Relay in an incident in the home straight.
