Those travelling to Kilbeggan this evening are warned of serious traffic delays at present due to an incident on the M6 motorway.
The garda.ie website reports that "the M6 will remain closed to eastbound traffic between Junctions 5 & 4 for the next number of hours following a serious collision.
Eastbound traffic can now divert at Junction 5 (Kilbeggan) and rejoin the motorway at Junction 4 (Tyrrellspass)."
Lengthy delays are reported in Kilbeggan town and are likely to continue through the afternoon.
An eight-race evening card at Kilbeggan begins at 4.55pm.
