Kilbeggan hosts Saturday evening meeting

All roads lead to Kilbeggan this weekend as the popular midlands venue holds the first Saturday evening fixture of the year, with the seven race card beginning at 5.30.

Racecourse manager Paddy Dunican has been busy over the winter with improvements costing E180,000 including a widening a draining programme on the track, a new service road around the course plus a wash bay for the horses.

Kilbeggan, strategically situated between the large midland towns of Tullamore and Mullingar, will hold eight meetings this year and another new innovation of a large screen is sure to prove a big hit with punters on Saturday evening.

There is also a free race card draw with a VIP day out at the Curragh on June 26 on offer.
