The J P McManus owned Head Of The Posse ridden by David Casey and trained by John Kiely won the Winter Festival 2008 Maiden Hurdle at Fairyhouse this afternoon.
Casey raced the Supreme Leader gelding towards rear, took closer order halfway, ridden in 4th approaching last where slight mistake but kept on well to get up on the line and win by a short head.
Winning trainer Kiely said afterwards, "The horse is still learning, if he had of jumped the last better he would have won a bit easier. Hopefully he'll improve from the run and we've plans for him yet."
