Kenny's strike with Sadie's Pride After finishing a fine second on her debut at Wexford last month, Sadie's Pride went a place better in the bumper at Tramore this afternoon, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Mares) Flat Race. Beaten by a diminishing neck at Wexford, the daughter of Kalanisi proved easy to back today, going off at 14/1 from early shows of 7s. Trained and owned by Liam Kenny and ridden by his son James, the six-year-old was settled in mid-division on the outer, taking closer order from the four furlong pole. She improved to dispute the lead with two furlongs left to race, gaining a narrow lead in the closing stages before going on to prevail by half a length. She's A Cracker (18/1) ran a fine race to take second for the Berry’s, while Greenane Lady (4s to 9/4f) was another half-a-length back in third. "She ran really well in Wexford on proper heavy ground over two mile four. She was tough and she would have got up in another couple of strides," the winning rider said. "She proved she is versatile today on better ground over a shorter trip and on a sharper track. She is for sale although it would be nice to keep her and for me to keep riding her. "That's my fourth track winner and I've had twenty-four in point-to-point's. Hopefully she will go on to a good home, she has plenty of ability and is a tough mare." The winner was bought for just E2,500 at the Tattersalls August National Hunt Sale in 2019.
