Keane edges closer in jockeys' title race Colin Keane closed to within two winners of jockeys' title race leader Shane Foley when Secret Pulse got off the mark in the fillies' and mares' maiden in the Curragh. The strong-travelling Secret Pulse moved through to lead Salsa over a furlong out and was soon ridden to go and win her race. She asserted in the final 100 yards to take the spoils by two and a quarter lengths at 4/1 for Keane's father Gerry. Salsa had to make do with second at 11/2. Marchetti was another two and a half lengths adrift in third at 25/1. Colin Keane said: “She’s improved from run to run. The last day she was still green and ran around. "She’s not the most straightforward but the penny is starting to drop with her and it’s nice to get her a winning bracket.” Keane moved onto 70 winners for the season with Shane Foley on 72. Paddy Power make Keane 2/5 favourite for the crown and Foley a 7/4 shot. Additional reporting by Alan Magee
