Keane doubles up on Acquiescent Successful earlier on Jerandme, Colin Keane doubled up for the evening when Acquiescent (3s into 11/5 fav before the off) landed the concluding seven furlong handicap. The three-time champion jockey kept things simple on the Footstepsinthesand mare who raced in second as Sense Of Romance set the pace. Keane sent her to the front a furlong and a half out and she kept on well to score by two lengths from Inductive. It was a third career win, and a first since October 2020, for the five-year-old winner. George Murphy, assistant to his father and winning trainer John, said: “She was a bit keen early on but he was in the right spot and she was tough and did it well in the end. “Seven is her ideal trip and we’ll look for something similar the next day. She’s been very consistent and hopefully she might be able to get another one.” AM & MN
