Molly Kaye battled gamely to gain a follow up win in the concluding Morris Builders DIY Handicap at Tramore this evening.
The Shane Duffy-trained mare had won at Ballinrobe last month and was back in the winners' enclosure tonight.
Ben Coen produced the 4/1 co-favourite to challenge passing the two pole and she edged ahead inside the final furlong for a length-and-a-half success. Cliff House won the battle for the runner-up spot, a head in front of Attack At Dawn
“That was great. We were a little bit worried about the ground as it dried out so quickly,” said Duffy.
“I actually thought coming down here that she'd need a bit more of a dig in it.
“Her honestly pulled her through and Ben gave her a cracking ride as well.
“We thought a few of them weren't coming home today so we dropped her in a little bit more as well.
“She's a lovely honest mare, she's only a small little thing. We'll see what the handicapper does and pick our way through for the rest of the year. She's a soft ground mare.
“It's nice for a small yard to get a winner like that. It gives us all a lift.”
