The Joseph O'Brien trained Karsavina won for the first time since her racecourse debut when overcoming trouble in running to land the Buy Tickets Online At ww.corkracecourse.ie Median Auction Maiden Race.

Held up third of the five runners, the Hugh Horgan partnered filly came through on the inside to challenge leader Cill Mocheallog over a furlong out.

However, as the latter edged to his right, closing the door on the O'Brien trained four-year-old, My Little Lady came through to lead briefly.

Once in the clear, Horgan picked up strongly aboard Karsavina to go on for a three-quarter-length win.

Stable representative Sean Corby said: "It all went smooth until a furlong-and-a-half down when things got tight. She was good and brave though, picked up well and galloped through the line.

"She has had a few good runs in defeat, has been highly tried as well and this looked a nice opportunity for her. Now that she has got her head in front again, hopefully she can build on that and keep progressing."
