Kapard makes winning debut over hurdles The Boyle Maiden Hurdle went to the 11/10 favourite Kapard who travelled well throughout before hitting the front after jumping the last. From there she kept on to defeat the front-running Aubretia (18/1) by two and a half lengths with Vocal Duke (9/1) another four and a quarter lengths away in third. The Henry de Bromhead-trained winner is out of a half-sister to Al Ferof and had been taken out of an engagement at Listowel on Saturday due to testing ground. She came here instead and duly made a winning debut on today’s good ground. Winning rider Rachael Blackmore said: "She’s really nice and that was a lovely performance for her first ever run. "She was sharp enough with her jumping and hopefully she'll build on that and turn into something nice. “You couldn’t be anything else but happy with her.” Additional reporting by Eamonn Murphy
