Kaleefa draws ahead of When In Doubt at Roscommon© Photo Healy Racing
Dermot Weld's Kaleefa saw off When In Doubt in the mile and a half fillies' maiden at Roscommon as the pair fought out a battle well ahead of the remainder.
The 5/6 favourite Kaleefa was tracked throughout by When In Doubt (6/1) until the latter drew alongside on the bend approaching the home straight.
Kaleefa was first off the bridle turning in and Pat Smullen administered a couple of smacks at the two pole. Colin Keane, on board When In Doubt, still held a narrow lead but he also went for the whip.
Hitting the furlong pole and Kaleefa on the inside was responding well to Smullen's drive. She got her head back in front and in the closing stages pulled away to win by three and a half lengths. Well Tuned (9/1) kept on for third, a further four and a half lengths down.
Pat Smullen said: "Stamina won the day, and she handles the ground well. To be fair to her she dug deep and really stays well.
"It's good to get a winning bracket with her."
